Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania Cast & Marvel Character Guide (2024)

Warning: This post contains major spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantumaniaAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania officially kicks off the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Five, and it’s got a cast full of familiar faces and new ones. Directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay by Jeff Loveness, Quantumania is the first MCU film to feature Kang the Conqueror, who previously made his debut in Loki season 1 as He Who Remains.

Scott Lang is living his best life after the events of Avengers: Endgame. He’s back with his daughter Cassie, and he’s even written a book about his adventures with the Avengers. But this happiness doesn’t last for too long because he, Cassie, and the Pym family are sucked into the Quantum Realm. Together they must face Kang and stop him from leaving to wreak havoc on the multiverse. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania wraps up Scott’s story while simultaneously making way for a new one that will impact the MCU’s Phase Five. The superhero film’s cast proves they’re more than up to the task — heroes and villains alike are brought to life in detail.

Paul Rudd as Ant-Man/Scott Lang

Scott Lang is an Avenger — Ant-Man — who was trapped in the Quantum Realm after Thanos snapped Hope van Dyne and her family out of existence. He returned in Avengers: Endgame to help his friends stop Thanos using time travel. Scott was able to reconnect with his daughter and wrote a book about his adventures. Ant-Man is portrayed by Paul Rudd, who is best known for his roles in Clueless, the popular TV series Friends, I Love You, Man, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and its sequel, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, This is 40, Knocked Up, and the previous Ant-Man movies.

Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror

Kang the Conqueror is the primary villain for the MCU’s Phase Five. Kang is a time-traveler who is banished to the Quantum Realm and believes only he can save the multiverse from his variants. Kang is himself a variant of Loki season 1’s He Who Remains, the creator of the Time Variance Authority. Kang is portrayed by Jonathan Majors, who takes on the role of multiple Kangs in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Majors is best known for his roles in the HBO series Lovecraft Country, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Devotion, Da 5 Bloods, and the Netflix film The Harder They Fall.

Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne

Janet van Dyne is a scientist and the matriarch of the Pym family who was stuck within the Quantum Realm for 30 years before being rescued. It’s there that she met Kang, and she harbors some guilt for initially helping him escape the Quantum Realm before realizing his plans. Janet is portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer, who is best known for her roles in Batman Returns, in which she played Selina Kyle/Catwoman, What Lies Beneath, One Fine Day, Stardust, the musical Hairspray, Dangerous Minds, Grease 2, and Scarface.

Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang

Cassie Lang is Scott’s 18-year-old daughter. Cassie has a strong sense of justice and uses the Ant-Man-like suit she created with Hank Pym to help people in need. She also worked to restore the signal to the Quantum Realm. This version of Cassie Lang is portrayed by Kathryn Newton, who is best known for her roles in the HBO series Big Little Lies, the long-running CW series Supernatural, Lady Bird, the TV series The Society, the Prime Video movieThe Map of Tiny Perfect Things, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Bill Murray as Lord Krylar - Lord Krylar is a governor in the Quantum Realm who once worked alongside Janet van Dyne, and who has now allied himself with Kang the Conqueror. Bill Murray is best known for his roles in Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Moonrise Kingdom, Lost in Translation, in which he starred alongside another MCU star, Scarlett Johansson, Disney’s live-action Jungle Book, Zombieland, Rushmore, Charlie’s Angels, Space Jam, and What About Bob?

David Dastmalchian as Veb - Veb is a creature that lives in the Quantum Realm. David Dastmalchian is best known for his roles in the Arrowverse series The Flash, Dune, Jame’s Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, in which he played Polka-Dot Man, the biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, though he played a different character named Kurt.

William Jackson Harper as Quaz - Quaz is a telepath who figures out why Scott and Cassie are in the Quantum Realm. William Jackson Harper is best known for his roles in the NBC comedy series The Good Place, the horror film Midsommar, the HBO Max series Love Life, and the series The Electric Company.

Katy O'Brian as Jentorra - Jentorra is a freedom fighter who is vehemently against Kang the Conqueror and anyone who stands with him. Katy O’Brian is best known for her roles in the series Z Nation, the Arrowverse show Black Lightning, and has appeared in a few episodes of the Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

Corey Stoll as Darren Cross/M.O.D.O.K. - Darren Cross was an antagonist to Ant-Man and Hank Pym, but after being sent to the Quantum Realm, he becomes M.O.D.O.K., an organism designed to kill and an ally of Kang the Conqueror.

Randall Park as Jimmy Woo - Jimmy Woo is an agent with the FBI and has a cameo appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but has previously had bigger roles in Ant-Man and the Disney+ series WandaVision. Randall Park is best known for the comedy series Fresh Off the Boat, the Netflix rom-com Always Be My Maybe, Snatched, They Came Together, and Veep.

Tom Hiddleston as Loki - Loki is Thor’s adopted brother and the God of Mischief. Once a primary antagonist of the Avengers, Loki turned over a new leaf and is now set on stopping Kang the Conqueror. Loki also appears with Mobius in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ssecond post-credits scene.
