Everything you need toknow

Buying and replacing flowers in your home and garden can be a costly business, yet without them, your vases are empty and your home is without much-needed colour. Our range of fantastic faux flowers are incredibly realistic, long-lasting, and offer no-maintenance living.

Choose from single stems, bouquets, and orchids for inside your home, and brightly coloured window boxes, hanging baskets, and patio tubs to instantly transform your outdoor space.

Using faux flowers is an easy way to bring long-lasting colour into your home and garden. It makes keeping fresh looking flower arrangements around your home a breeze - as there’s no watering, feeding, and frankly no wilting or death.

We have faux flowers for your front door as well as other outdoor spaces like patios, balconies and decking, our outdoor flowers offer vibrant and instant colour. Pair them with topiary or outdoor plants for a total transformation.

We also have a range of artificial flowers for graves, to brighten and beautify year round.

Read our tips about how to pull off fake flowers.

Artificial plants and flowers used to be made from hard, shiny, rigid plastics that screamed of fake but manufacturing technologies have come a long way in the last ten years or so, making faux flowers now near impossible to pick out of a crowd.

Our range of artificial flowers has been carefully hand-picked from suppliers across the world to ensure they match the appearance and texture of the real thing. But unlike their natural siblings, these faux flowers will stand the test of time.

We have a range of indoor and outdoor flowers available including hanging baskets, window boxes and patio tubs. If you experience any issues within 12 months of receiving an outdoor arrangement, we’ll happily take a look into the issue offering either a refund or replacement for any damage caused by the elements.

When outside, Mother Nature takes care of the dust and dirt that can build up indoors. However should you need to give them a quick clean, we recommend using either a dry cloth to wipe away any dirt, or alternatively you can pick up artificial flower cleaning sprays easily online which should leave your flowers squeaky clean.

For more help, read our guide to cleaning artificial plants.

  1. Quality

Modern faux flowers are incredibly realistic and our range has been handpicked to ensure each one closely resembles its natural sibling.

  1. Price

Realistic artificial flowers can seem pricey on the face of it but overall they work out considerably cheaper.

Take a bouquet of flowers for example. If you buy a fresh bunch from the local supermarket for £10 each month, you’ll have spent £120 in a year. A premium faux arrangement may cost between £60-£100 but lasts year after year with no replacing, water or any wilted blooms.

  1. Allergies

There are around 18 million hay fever sufferers in the UK. But with faux flowers you can bin the tissues. Our blooms offer a sniffle-free way to have beautiful colour in and around your home without compromise.

  1. Lifespan

Flowers arrangements like orchids, and especially cut stems and bouquets, tend to have a relatively short lifespan in most people's homes. Whether it’s the wrong conditions, lack of watering or humidity, it’s sad to see wilting flowers sat on the dining table.

Outdoor flowers on the other hand often need replacing each year along with regular maintenance.

Artificial flowers can brighten your space for years with next to no care, which brings us neatly onto our next point...

  1. Maintenance

Put the spray bottle away! Artificial flowers require no feeding, watering, or general ongoing care. The only thing we suggest to keep them looking real is an occasional dust / wipe to keep them clean.

FAQs

What is the best type of artificial flower? ›

Foam flowers are robust and can withstand certain weather conditions such as rain. This is what makes them a popular choice for artificial flowers used outdoors. To maximize their durability, use foam-made blooms to make the perfect backdrop.

Where does Afloral get their flowers from? ›

DRIED + PRESERVED FLOWERS

For our non-native florals, we partner internationally with a small farm in Baja, Mexico, a small farm in the Netherlands, a farm in China, and an environmentally focused nursery in Japan.

Do fake flowers look cheap? ›

Artificial flowers are usually less expensive and can be easier to care for, but they may not look as realistic as real flowers. Ultimately, the decision of which type of flower to use for a wedding is a personal one. Some couples prefer the look of real flowers, even if it means spending a bit more money.

What are the disadvantages of artificial flowers? ›

Just so you know, artificial flowers tend to gather dust over time, which can make them look unkempt and may require regular cleaning. Plus, some people may be allergic to the materials used in artificial flowers or the dust that collects on them. Real flowers, on the other hand, do not pose all these risks.

What to look for when buying fake plants? ›

Today's artificial plants are much more realistic in color, shape, and texture than what you might have seen in years or decades past. These are really the key things you want to look for when shopping for fake plants that look like the real thing. Check for slight color and shape variations in the leaves and stems.

Is afloral worth the money? ›

It might be a little on the pricier side, but it's absolutely worth it, in my opinion. You won't be-leaf these deals!

Where does Afloral ship from to the US? ›

Is Afloral from USA? Yes, Afloral is from USA. It's headquarters is located in Lakewood, NY 14750, USA.

What are fake flowers called? ›

There are four main terms for synthetic flowers…. artificial, fake, faux and silk. They are all pretty much interchangeable these days. Savvy marketing teams across the globe discovered that if they call their standard plastic flowers 'silk flowers' they could benefit from people assuming the quality is higher…

What can I use instead of fake flowers? ›

Dried Grasses

This is in contrast to silk flowers which are made to simulate fresh-cut flowers, so to keep up the image, you should rotate them frequently. Pampas grass has been a trendy option in the past year.

Are artificial flowers outdated? ›

Are fake plants out of style? The answer to both of these questions is “absolutely not” — especially when done right!

Should you have fake flowers in your house? ›

And yes, artificial flowers, plants, and even faux trees and shrubs can offer the same benefits. While artificial plants cannot filter the air in your home, the visual appeal, mood improvement, and stress reduction are shared between real and faux flowers.

Which artificial flower looks most realistic? ›

The most realistic flowers are those made from high-quality materials like silk, polyester, and foam. While each material has its advantages, polyester fabric achieves the most lifelike appearance. We offer a range of polyester flowers including dahlias, tulips, and peonies.

How do I make a cheap bunch of flowers look expensive? ›

The best way to make a bouquet look expensive is to mix different kinds of flowers together. Try arranging it so you have a consistent mix of smaller buds, larger focal blooms, and plenty of greenery to frame them.

What flower types are perfect? ›

That means a perfect flower will have pistils and stamen inside of it. Some examples of Perfect Flowers are roses, lilacs, carnations, and lilies. Imperfect Flowers are flowers that have either male parts or female parts, but not both.

What is the difference between real touch and silk flowers? ›

Occasionally, a latex-polymer combination is also used in the manufacturing process. Thanks to this process, Real Touch flowers are surprisingly durable. Even when pressed or squeezed, the thicker petals retain their shape and structure, even more so than with silk flowers. Their edges will not fray or shred either.

What is the best material for fabric flowers? ›

The use of synthetic material is essential, as the process of making the flowers involves melting the edges. If you use natural fabrics (silk, cotton, rayon) the edges will burn rather than melt/fuse… not a good look. Choose lightweight satin, chiffon, lace, organza.

Do fake flowers photograph well? ›

Brides and photographers alike often prefer high-quality fake flowers as wedding flowers. This is because good-quality faux flowers not only look great in photos but also store well and can be used for a long time after the event has concluded.
