There are more than a hundred new armaments in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, many of which fall into one of eight new weapon categories. In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Beast Claw is a new weapon of the eponymous Beast Claw weapon type. A new weapon type in the Elden Ring DLC, with the Beast Claw equipped, your Light Attack (RB/R1) becomes a chainable flurry of attacks, while your Strong Attack becomes a much less chaotic, but slower, heavy strike with both hands.

The Ash of War on the Beast Claw is particularly powerful, launching players forward into a frenzy of hard-to-avoid attacks.

An extremely rapid weapon, the Beast Claw builds Bleed by default, and is able to proc Blood Loss reliably. The Beast Claw moveset dishes out a remarkable amount of hits in a small time frame, so it's a great weapon to pair with Talismans like the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, which increases your Attack power with each successive strike, and other status-inducing effects.Within one or two attacks, or a single use of your Ash of War, you will reach the max benefit that this Talisman can provide.

The Beast Claw can be upgraded using Smithing Stones to +25, but cannot benefit from spell-based or consumable weapon buffs.

Beast Claw Weapon Skill: Savage Claw

The Beast Claw Ash of War is Savage Claw, which can be changed. When you use the Beast Claw skill Savage Claws, you will launch forward after a second and deal a frenzy of blows, chasing your target down over a decent distance and dealing a lot of Poise damage, increasing your change to Stagger them.

This weapon skill costs 13 FP to cast, and cannot be chained into a follow-up attack.

Pounce like a beast to viciously slash into foe with left and right claws.

Where To Find Beast Claw Location

To get the Beast Claw in Shadow of the Erdtree, you must defeat Logar the Beast Claw – a possible reference to the Marvel superhero Wolverine. This is not an invader, nor do you invade their world.

Instead, Logar can be found wandering around the forest to the south of the Gravesite Plain. Ride Torrent into the heart of this forest, avoiding Gravebirds as you look, and repeatedly use the Lock-On input to find him in the tall grass if you have trouble spotting him.

Logar is a vicious opponent, and can be very difficult to beat when you first get into the Realm of Shadow. Take your time fighting him, look for opportunities to attack but don't get greedy, and take care to not get caught in his Beast Claw combo. If you defeat him, the Beast Claw will drop and you will be able to use its bestial moveset for your own build.
