Our 50 Favorite Summer Recipes for Any Outdoor Cookout (2024)

Our 50 Favorite Summer Recipes for Any Outdoor Cookout (1)

Summertime on the Drummond Ranch in Oklahoma isn't exactly a walk in the park (or the beach, for that matter). "Summer is the busiest time on the ranch, with lots of (incredibly) hot days dictating (impossibly) early starts," Ree says. So when it comes to the little things that make summer great, like backyard barbecues and garden-fresh veggies, she takes full advantage of the best summer recipes! Ree will often prepare a summer salad for an easy dinner recipe or make a big batch of lemonade to cool down from the heat. And don't even get us started on all the grilling recipes that her husband, Ladd cooks up. Here, you'll find all those summer recipes and more, including Fourth of July appetizers, burgers, co*cktails, and even a few campfire desserts.

Our list has upgraded versions of picnic recipe classics, like a spicy Dr Pepper-infused pulled pork sandwich and a peach-ginger hand pie, and all of it will have your neighbors calling you up to ask for the recipe. There are also plenty of BBQ sides, like Ree's green goddess potato salad, rigatoni with summer vegetables, hot dogs, coleslaw, and more. Oh, and don't miss out on the chance to try her loaded corn casserole, which—believe it or not—comes together with just four ingredients. Get ready to dig into some seriously tasty dishes—and craft one heck of a 4th of July menu, too.
