Flowers can be enjoyed year-round with seasonal blooms coming and going as the months pass by. With February in full swing and March on its way, brighter days are bringing even more varieties into their flowering season. Snowdrops are one of the most iconic winter blooms around at this time of year - but there are six other stunning flowers that can also be enjoyed over the coming weeks.

Snowdrops are a British classic which are known to signal the very early signs of the spring season.
The delicate white petals resemble the freshness of a new start, with the vibrant green stems offering a bold contrast.
While these stunning blooms are a welcome addition to any garden or outdoor space, there are a number of other plants which are also due to come into flower as February fades to March.
With spring officially set to begin on March 20, it’s time to add new pots and dig in established blooms as your garden waves goodbye to winter.

Which flowers bloom in February and March?
While a colourful display of flowers is a lesser spotted sight in February, there are a number of early bloomers which will provide varied beds and borders almost right away.
From classic spring blooms to fragrant pastel hues, there is a wide range of flowers set to come into flower over the next eight weeks.
Daffodils
With one early variety known as February Gold, the clue is in the name when it comes to the flowering period of this delicate daffodil.
Rijnveld’s Early Sensation is another bold variety which will provide a bright yellow pop of colour to your garden.
Both types of daffodil will deliver the iconic hue of this seasonal bloom within the month - so it’s time to get planting.

Crocus
These small cupped blooms are the perfect flower for adding a subtle blaze of colour to your garden.
Ranging from orange to purple or white, the crocus is the perfect addition to your outdoor space ahead of spring.
There are lots of different species and varieties to choose from, with almost all of them being hardy to the harsh British weather.
Sweet violet
Known as viola odorata, the sweet violet is renowned for its fresh scent and varying shades of blue, pink and purple.
Plant near walkways and seating areas to make the most of the elegant fragrance as you brush past this early bloom.

Cyclamen coum
Cyclamen coum is a perennial flower which can bloom as early as January in the right conditions, though most will emerge in February.
This petite flower comes in white, pink and purple, providing an eye-catching pastel display.
Primrose
This well known perennial blooms in March, offering pink, yellow, purple and white flowers.

Lenten rose
The lenten rose flower is a semi-evergreen perennial with glossy leaves and bowl-shaped flowers.
Grown in a range of colours, this plant will appear suddenly from the first with pink, purple and white flowers.
Lenten roses are one of the earliest flowering blooms, often emerging in late winter.
Dark green leaves contrasted with the muted tones of the petals make for a stunning display from February through to Spring.
