We've been doing more and more of the video walls in residential applications lately (as opposed to the normal commercial applications for digital signage)

You can still watch 4 different satellite receivers (one on each TV) but full screen is what it's all about.
There's another 2 TVs just to the right of this 2x2 setup, so a total of 6 sports games can be up at once. The iPad control GUI was a *****. There is glare on the screens because I took the video during the day, but the image is outstanding on these 4k TVs (after I gave them ISF calibrations)
I've never really wanted one in my own house until now. The price point has dropped from $15k-ish down to around $5k (not including TVs). And, obviously, the thinner the bezel, the better.

Pretty badass but I think the bezels dividing the screens would distract me.
Doesnt matter anyway, I have not achieved baller status so having 4 tvs like that isnt even on the table.

Someone said the other day it reminded them of looking through crosshairs, and now that's all I see when I look at it

This. That's the only thing that bothers me.

I bet it looks fantastic.
And you get used to the bezels rather quickly.

Don't worry about the edges in the picture.
In a year or two there WILL be screens that big or even larger.
And a few years after that you will just unroll whatever size you want and hook up a control strip along and edge or the bottom to drive it.

I guess I understand the attraction of the ability to watch four different programs if you are a hardcore sports fan, but the single picture with the bezels would drive me nuts.
I did a 120" screen in my basem*nt with an Optoma HD26 and it wasn't costly at all and the picture is great. The projector is 3D capable too and 3D movies look pretty awesome.
Oh, quick edit - I also used a mount that makes the projector easily removable. On nice nights, I bring the projector into the back yard for movies on a 9' x 16' (245") screen in the back yard.

I'm a huge fan of front projection systems, it's the best way to go (I'm waiting on the new 1900 lumen JVC DLA for my personal setup) But these video walls are mainly requested by sports fans. This particular client also has 4 Xbox One consoles and 4 PS4 consoles along with the DirecTV receivers, one for each TV.

We use "Just Add Power" (an IP based design) for larger applications (3x3 walls, or large amounts in commercial applications like sports bars) but this one is made by CE Labs (Garland, TX) and is just for 2x2 walls.
This was my first time with the OmniMount "ConnexSys" mounting system, it was very expensive and worth every penny.

Very cool and all, but it's not for me. What size are the TV's?

55" diagonal. The downside is the bezel. Ultrathin bezels are the best, but those TVs are priced higher. Still, if it has to be TVs instead of a projector, under $15k for 110" diagonal screen is much better than $60k+ for a single 100"+ TV.
I'm personally going with the new JVC DLA and will pair it with a Screen Innovations Zero Edge Black Diamond screen, which will look just about as close to a flat panel TV as you can get without dropping a fortune.

Looks awesome...Great mounting job! I thought about going this route until I seen by buddies 140" projection. He painted the screen on the wall and put a frame around it. I was blow away how crisp and clear the picture was and he's got $1200 into it.

I had to look up that JVC projector. Damn, looks awesome. Definitely pricey. I'm sure the picture is stunning.

video fails.
But on the topic. The divided 4 would drive me nuts when I want to use all of them for 1. Not that I would use 4 at a time either.
I plan on going projector when I move to a new house and its time to upgrade from my old 50" plasma.

Those of you going with projectors - check out the new product "Skreens"

The big downside on projectors is that the bulbs can go out pretty quick. Not recommended for every day usage only for big events/special events. Pretty sweet build but not a fan of the bezels at all.

Very cool, I would have a hard time focusing from the separations on screen.
